I knew Steve when we were Civil Engineering students at the University of Michigan. We both transferred to U-M the same year, and he was one of the first friends I made there, and his friendship, and strong, engaging personality made it such a better experience for me. Not sure what made me Google his name after all these years, but it shows you what kind of impact he had on me to think of him. I was saddened to see how his name came up in the results, but I think it's just God's way of letting me know that he has taken my old buddy. Knowing Steve, he was a great father, great parent, and had a great life. Made mine better. God Bless.

Dear Ellen and Family: The Meyer Family would like to extend our deepest condolences on the untimely passing of Steve. We have fond memories of our time spent with you all of those parent's weekends at Camp Pinecliffe with our daughters. I will always remember Steve's overwhelming joy at our father-daughter tennis matches.
May you all take comfort from the many fine memories he leaves behind. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Ellen and Family,
The picture in the guest book is the way I always did and always will remember Derek! To me, he was always truly interested and caring, always made me smile and feel special when I saw him.
It's so hard to imagine the world without his light shining in it. Although I did not see you all often, living in California, I always felt close and you are always in my heart.
I'm so sorry for your families loss especially, not to mention a loss to all of us.
Sending Love,
Victor

Steve, May Your Memory Be a Blessing. Our condolences to Ellen, your kids and the Kay family.
Many a full moon has passed since we last spoke and now those yet to come will not be as bright. You've left us to join a great band. Now you get to jam with Hendrix, Jimmy Reed and Danny Whitten. Every time I hear Neil you will be remembered. Yes, The King is gone but he's not forgotten.

We go back a long way. We are friends, co workers and played music together. Our fathers had a long history. I pray for your family. Till we meet again. Doug Jr.

Steven was my friend since Bannockburn in the 70's. I remember him well throughout the years at Walt Whitman. Such a nice guy I'll always remember. May he find everlasting peace in heaven with God. We all will miss him dearly.
