Thomas Arnold Proctor

Thomas Arnold Proctor of Waldorf, MD entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2023. He was born on December 12, 1950 at Freedmen's Hospital at Howard University in Washington, DC to Elizabeth Thelma and Thomas Hesperdes Thompson.

At the age of 19, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served with bravery and distinction as a member of the 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He received a Bronze Star, which is the third highest honor in combat.

After the war, Thomas met and later married Mary Proctor. Thomas and Mary eventually divorced but remained close friends throughout the rest of his life. He is survived by his children, Tarsha Proctor Standridge (Glenn) and Corry Proctor (Angela); grandchildren Taila Townsend (Gregory), Langston Standridge, Lennon Standridge, Corry Proctor Jr. and Chozen Proctor; siblings Garland Proctor(Ann), Elizabeth Cynthia Harris(Theodore), Byron Thompson; a host of nieces and nephews and his close friend Marlene. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Corraye Proctor, and his brothers John Irving Proctor(Patricia) and James Wayne Proctor(Lorraine).

A memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church in Clinton, MD. at 10 a.m. on May 22 with a repast following the service at 12 noon. Burial at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD. will be later in June.
