It was just told to me yesterday about the loss of your son, brother and husband. I’m overseas serving in Iraq, when I was told of Victor’s passing, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I met Victors about 20 years ago through one of his closes friend and co-worker David Driggers, at 30 Engine. Vic was a wonderful, caring person and friend. One of the things I remember about Vic, was when I started having problems with Asthma. If Victor’s shift was working on that day, and they would hear over there PA system my address he or Dave would call me to let me know they were on there way with the Fire Trucks, Engine or Ambulance . That was something that stood out about him, because he was a very caring individual. When I will go pass Engine 30, to see him and the other guys, to thank them for there concern, he would walk up to me flashing that million dollar smile. I hadn’t seen him since he left 30 Engine. The last time we talked, he talked about his family him being a great dad and wonderful husband. Also how he was looking forward to the new challenges in the job he was taking on the Fire Department. He will be deeply missed by so many people. I’ll like to send my deepest condolence as well as my prayers to the family during their time of bereavement. “Stay strong for one another and keep God first”. Just knowing that he’s not suffering anymore and he’s at peace.

Mrs. Rollins,
We are so sorry for your loss. I know this is really hard. Antione and I lost our loved one just a few days before. So we understand the pain and know that only God and time will heal and comfort. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers always.

Vic,
I just want to finish what I have to say to you. I haven’t been able to get much sleep since I learned of your passing, the memories run deep. All I can think of is the times we spent together in our youth and the wife and babies that you leave behind. I know that your wife is a good woman even though I’ve never met her. She has to be, to have put up with a brother like you (smile) because you and I had been through some things and yet we both found women who loved us. I have no doubt that she will carry on your legacy and raise your children to be good and decent human beings.
As men we never talked about our love for each other though we both know it was there in abundance. I feel the same way about Stan, who I have touched base with through the years and feel the same affinity for. Karen, I know that Vic loved you with all of his heart, and I know that you will be strong for your children.
Nina, Marcus, and Isaac, please always remember that your father loved you unconditionally, and that his spirit will always be in your heart to guide you through the trials and tribulations of life. Words and remembrances seem so small now, but these are all I have to give you. Your father was my friend for life and beyond. Although we lost touch through the years, the love and respect your father and I had for each other never dimmed. Always look to your mother and the spirit of your father to guide you in this hectic world. Your grandparents and your uncles carry your father’s legacy for they knew him best. Seek out their council in times of joy and distress for they are there for you.
I don’t know what more I can say for the pain in my heart is deep and profound. Mr. and Mrs. Rollins, Stan and Jonathan, I hope that you find a small measure of comfort in my words because I know that your pain is much greater than mine. God be with everyone through this difficult period for he is the light and the way to eternal life. May we all meet in heaven and carry out God’s plan with love and brotherhood for each other. Peace.
David

To The Rollins Family:
My prayers are with you at this trying time. Your loved one; Vic and I were classmates at Rabaut Jr, High and then Coolidge High Schools. We played ball together, cards together and took classes together. As Duarte mentioned in his posting; I was looking forward to our 30th reunion with fellow classmates. Vic, you will always be one of us and I will always remember you. Thanks for the good times and being a good friend.
Much Love!

Vic,
Jeffrey just told me about your passing. Stan left a note over my mother's house. You know we go back to Rabaut & Coolidge. I remember us walking to Coolidge every morning with Jonathan to drop him off at Whittier. You know how we used to kick it. I'm crushed right about now because I was hoping for all of us to hook up at our 30th this year. I'm going try and pay my respects tomorrow, but you know I have nothing, but love for you and your family anyway. The tears are starting to flow so I'm going pick this up later. First Valerie, then Jimmy and now you. Give them a hug for me and tell them I'll see all of you one of these days. I'm just numb, but you're at rest now and I'm going stay strong my brother.
Peace & Love.

The measure of this man is not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed? But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer, to bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, but, how many were sorry when he passed away. How very sorry we are for the void Vic's passing has brought. O, how we will miss him. Although words cannot begin to ease the sorrow of your loss Rollins family, please know that we are holding you close in our prayers and sharing in your sorrow as you walk through this time. Praying mightily for your comfort. Byron, Cynethea & Andre’

I will always have fond memories of Vic. He was like a big brother to me as we both attended Faith Tabernacle United Holy Church and were both members of the Sunshine Band and the Junior Choir. As believers, we all know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. I am continuing to pray for Sis & Bro. Rollins, Stanley and Jonathan. May the Lord sustain you in this time of bereavement.
