The news of Susie's ("Sam's") passing makes me so sad. We were great friends throughout our elementary and high school years, sharing all kinds of activities like cheerleading, Camp Fire Girls, summer camp, chorus, countless birthday and pajama parties, annual plays, and band. We had a sincere talk together at one of our class reunions and I am grateful for that. I will always cherish the memories of Sam and the fun we had together growing up. My deepest sympathies to her family. I will keep Sam and you in my prayers.

Jane and John, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your sister Sue. I should say Sam because that is what we all called her growing up. Although I lost touch with her over the past few years, she is part of many of my favorite memories. What a great time we had performing in school plays, cheerleading, playing our flutes in band, having slumber parties and walking around at dusk hoping to run into one of the many boys we had crushes on. We sure did a lot of very crazy things and boy, did we laugh! I will never forget her sense of humor and joy of life. She was my best friend and ally growing up in Mosinee. Sam stood by my side on many occasions when I was down and struggling with adolescent peer pressure and all of those dramatic moments that come with being a teenager in a small town. Life did not treat her kindly in her adult years. She deserved much better. I regret that I was not around to support her in these later years, like she supported me and all of her many friends during our wonder years. May she find great peace and joy in this next chapter. My prayers are with you and your family.
