Florence Mary Wireman, age 74, of Hawkeye, died Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus, Rochester, Minnesota.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye with Rev. Ron Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2025, at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Hawkeye, and for one hour preceding services at the Church on Saturday.

Florence Mary, daughter of Don and Mary (Tourdot) Gallagher, was born June 5, 1950, in Mineral Point, WI. She received her blessed sacraments in the Catholic Faith. Florence graduated from West Delaware High School in 1969. On November 13, 1971, she was united in marriage with David Wireman. The couple made their home in Cedar Falls until March of 1989, when they moved to rural Hawkeye. Florence began her professional career in banking prior to working at Pries Enterprises for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye. Florence enjoyed traveling, fishing trips to Canada, playing cards (was in local card clubs), gardening, tending to her animals on the farm, reading, and quilting (was in a local quilting circle).
Florence is survived by her daughter, Lenita Bruns of Manchester; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Margaret (Dale) Maddigan of Oelwein, Pat Staton of Masonville, Don (Diane) Gallagher of Waterloo, Monica (Chuck) Newell of California., Bernard (Carol) Gallagher of Texas, Anthony Gallagher of Nevada and Richard (Judy) Gallagher of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David; sons, Dennis and David; daughter-in-law, Corrina Wireman; son-in-law, Jason Bruns; brother, James Gallagher; and sister, Anna Wireman.
