Christopher Laine Fullerton, age 74, of Wenatchee, passed away peacefully on the morning of 17 February, surrounded by family and friends.
Chris was born in San Diego, CA on December 16, 1951, the second of six children born to Hugh Alexander Fullerton and Wanda Willie (Bryson) Fullerton. His parents having divorced when he was six, Chris learned to be extremely resourceful, learning to make do with little. Attending three schools in a year was not unusual, and as an indifferent student, he exploited a knack for working on everything, from soapbox racers to alarm clocks to dirt bikes.
Chris enlisted in the Marines just after his 17th birthday and served seven years in the Corps, eventually becoming a staff sergeant admin chief. He earned the Navy Achievement Medal for his work on President Ford's National Clemency Board.
In 1980, Chris returned to the D.C. area. For the next 37 years, Chris thrived in the construction industry in northern Virginia, becoming an IBEW journeyman electrician. Chris remarried and fathered two children, Christopher James and Natalie Jane, upon whom he doted.
In 2017 Chris relocated to Wenatchee to be near family. He enjoyed fishing with his buddy, Jerry Klein, at Alta Lake, and became an ardent Seahawks and Mariners fan.
Chris is survived by his son, Chris (Jenah), of Orondo; his daughter, Natalie Hurley (Seth), of Stafford, VA; and four grandchildren, Addison, Carter, Jack and Lincoln; a brother, Scott (Dawn), of East Wenatchee; and sisters, Becky Jones of Winthrop, Bonnie Klein of Peshastin, and Sam (Larry) Zimmerlund of Sonoita, AZ (formerly of Twisp); a fourth sister, Ginger, died in 2019. He is also survived by half-brothers, Kevin, Kelly and Kory Fullerton; and a stepsister, Debi Elam, all of southern CA. For more information please visit Heritage Memorial Chapel website.
