George M. Fullerton Jr.

1937 - 2026

George M. "Gabby" or "Buddy" Fullerton Jr., 88, a 67-plus-year resident of Trafford, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. George was born on Oct. 6, 1937, in Wilkinsburg, the son of the late George M. Fullerton Sr. and Grace (Gallery) Fullerton. George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose Ann (Landini) Fullerton, who passed in 2019; and by his younger sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Rhine. George was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School and had many lifelong friends from Turtle Creek. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician's mate and proudly served on the USS Iowa (BB-61) and the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42) during the Korean War. He worked for Westinghouse Electric Corp. in East Pittsburgh and then retired from the IBEW Local Five as an electrician. George is survived by his children, Donna Paladin (Gary), Michael Fullerton (Cheryl), Scott Fullerton (Emily), and Beth Werksman (Steve); his 13 grandchildren, Jason (Jodi), Joshua (Ariel), Caleb (Sarah), Jamie, Nathan (Christe), Joel (Faith), Samuel (Kristian), Savannah (Stephen), Syndi (Conner), Samantha, Zach (Kayla), Carissa, and Gracie; and his 11 great-grandchildren, Liberty, Adelayde, Charlotte, Damon, Vaughan, Savo, Lana, Tessa, Roman, Asher, and Emilia. George was an avid golfer and could be seen at one of the many golf courses in the area or down in Myrtle Beach, golfing with Rich, Dan, and Don. Later in life, George and Rose traveled to the USS Iowa (BB-61) reunions, held once a year across the United States, reuniting with old shipmates and meeting recent shipmates as well. George collected pins from each of these trips to document their travels. George and Rose loved to travel, visiting new cities. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 702 Seventh St. (State Route 130), Trafford, 412-372-3111.
