David Priebe

1939 - 2025

Dr. David Priebe, a beloved pediatric dentist who served the Wenatchee and the greater NCW community for decades, passed away on October 13th at the age of 86.
Born in Seattle, WA in 1939, David graduated high school in Richland, WA in 1957. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Whitman University. He completed his doctorate and specialty in pediatric dentistry at the University of Washington.
Dr. Priebe began practicing dentistry in Quincy before being drafted into the Army from 1966-1968. After living and working in Switzerland for a year, David returned to Washington to establish his own practice in the Eye and Ear Hospital in Wenatchee in 1971. The success of his practice allowed him to design and move into his new state-of-the-art building in 1985.
Dr. Priebe was a true innovator in the pediatric dental space. He was dedicated not only to providing the best medical care but also to cultivating a positive and engaging experience for children. Many of his young patients fondly remember Gumby, his parrot, who offered humor and piqued curiosity, serving as a unique "way in" with kids.
Since his retirement in 1996, David pursued his passions from his home base in Anacortes, WA, dedicating time to creating art, fishing and traveling the world.
David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Norma; his children, Elizabeth, David Jr., Nicholas, and Katherine; his nine grandchildren; his great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Wenatchee Health Center-Planned Parenthood, where he was on the board for several years.
