Carolyene Emerick

Carolyene Emerick, 93 of Hoagland went to be with Jesus Monday, June 16, 2025, at her home with family by her side. She was born May 7, 1932, in Winchester, Tennessee, the daughter of Floyd and Daisy (Rogers) Starnes. She married Ray Emerick; he preceded her in February of 2004. Carolyene loved Jesus and He was first in her life. She enjoyed gardening, canning, taking care of flowers, watching Indiana Basketball and the T.V. show, Family Feud. She loved spending time with family and supported as many of her grandchildren's sporting events as she could. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Bob) Fuess and Shirley (Ron) Knight; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Shane) Reece, Rob (Joye) Fuess, Nicole (Troy) Knefelkamp, Aaron (Liz) Knight, Arika (Matthew) Ellingsen and Corey (Anna) Knight and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray and four siblings, John Starnes, Henry Starnes, Bobbi Evans and Laverne Crownover. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.
