Carolyn Burrous Obituary

Carolyn Iness Burrous, 52, of Columbia City, passed away at 12:22 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her home. Born on February 10, 1973, in Orange, California, she was the daughter of James G. and Pamela A. (Strickland) Boman. Growing up in Vancouver, WA., she graduated from Fort Vancouver High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Huntington University. After moving to Whitley County, she began work at 80/20 and then H&R Block for nine years as a tax consultant. In 2013, she began working for Burrous Consolidated as a private transporter. She completed her work career with Foodliner in Fort Wayne as a truck driver. She also was a homemaker raising four children. She was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church and ABATE. She leaves behind her children, Michael (Juanita) Wilder, Jody (Kenneth) Adams, Robert Love, Jr. and David Mefford; step-children, Stacy Quinn, Claudia (David) O'Neil and Jesson Burrous; grandchildren, Michael, Nickolas, Tyler, Dominic, Vanessa, Devin, Derek, Spencer, Abigail, Alexander, Makenzie, Annabelle, Lacy, Mila Millie, Tristan, Nathan, Owen, and Kayson. She was preceded in death by her father, James Boman, and a grandson, Emily Wilder. Carolyn desired to have no services. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
