Constance "Connie" Cline

Constance "Connie" (Lockwood) Cline, age 93, formerly of Pequannock, NJ passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2025. Born in Hackensack, NJ, Connie was the daughter of the late Robert Leslie and Mae Margaret (Harris) Lockwood, and the beloved wife of the late William R. Cline, Jr. Connie had an adventurous spirit and brought fun energy wherever she went. She loved sharing stories of the adventures from her younger days and was known for her warmth and vibrant personality. A devoted mother, she lovingly raised her three children and was a passionate advocate for the deaf and hard of hearing community. Her tireless efforts led to the successful passage of a bill in New Jersey that she helped draft-an enduring testament to her commitment to inclusion and the well-being of others. In later years, Connie embraced her love of travel, particularly enjoying cross-country train journeys. She spent the last 15+ years of her life in Pennsylvania, where she volunteered with hospice care and organized theatre bus trips for her community. Her enthusiastic "yes" to life's opportunities was her trademark, and the beach was her favorite place. Everyone who saw her commented on her perpetual tan, Connie could often be found outside enjoying the weather in every season. She accepted everyone with a smile and enjoyed the little things in life taking time to literally "smell the roses" in appreciation. Connie is survived by her children: Patricia "Patty" Cline, fiancée of Michael Dolph; Christine "Chris" Stoner, fiancée of Robert Mathias; and William "Billy" Cline, husband of Michelle. She was a devoted "Gma" to her grandchildren: Jacqueline "Jacki" Cline, wife of Angie Avery; Kaitlin Jade Cline, wife of Scott Connally; Cody Sage Cline, Eliza Mae Stoner, and Emily Ann Stoner. In addition to her husband and parents, Connie was predeceased by her brother, Robert Lockwood.
