George Korkus Obituary

George A. Korkus Prominent Longtime Realtor, Mentor, and Friend, passed away on April 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born August 28, 1929 to the late George and Kathryn Korkus (nee Shutika), George was the beloved husband of Annette Korkus (nee Angelucci); loving father of Michael Korkus (Jane), George A Korkus, Jr., Andrew Korkus (Michele), Joseph Korkus (Vickie); cherished grandfather of Michael Korkus, Jr., Brooke Parker, George Korkus, III, Cameryn Korkus-Witcraft, Caitlin Korkus, Cara Korkus, Ashly Galanti, Brittany Galanti, and the late Joseph R. Galanti; proud great-grandfather of Ella, Hillary, Hannah, Kayla, Lana, Melina; dear brother of Barbara Smith (Robert), Theresa Mann (the late Joseph); brother-in-law of Anne Korkus; loving step-father of Robert Doran(Lisa), John Doran (Kathy), and Christine Tretter (Mark); George is survived by many nieces and nephews, he was preceded in death by his siblings Joseph Korkus (the late Mary), Constance Korkus-Henzler, Francis Korkus. George was the co-founder/co-owner of Stevens-Korkus Real Estate. George served as Sergeant in the U.S. Army stationed in Alaska and San Francisco from August 1952 to August 1954. George was a dynamic presence in the real estate industry, George built a reputation not only as a successful business owner but as a generous mentor, always ready to guide others toward success. George had a remarkable gift for leadership and mentorship, devoting countless hours to training and uplifting new agents. His positivity, warmth, and tireless generosity extended far beyond real estate-he was always willing to lend a hand or kind word to anyone in need. Outside the office, George was a legend in his own right. In his younger years, he was known as the best pool shooter in the area-a title he wore with both pride and humility. Later in life, he found joy in the game of Texas Hold'em, regularly playing alongside his beloved wife, Annette, and their close-knit group of card-playing friends. He also enjoyed attending auctions, always on the hunt for a great deal-a pastime that reflected his sharp eye and love for the thrill of the find. George's vibrant personality, sharp wit, and unwavering generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Relatives and friends are invited to George's Life Celebration on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 10 to 11:15 AM, followed by his memorial service at 11:30 AM at the Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 W. My father and George worked together when I was a teen, which was a long time ago. I stopped in his Real Estate Office a few years back, to see if he remembered my dad, who passed in 1965, he did. I'm sorry for your loss.
