Jean Fries Obituary

Jean M. Fries, 78 years, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, in Crofton, MD. She was the wife of Ronald E. Fries for 56 years last December. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Bertha (Schaeffer) Engler and sister of the late Maynard Engler. She worked as an analyst and engineer at Pennsylvania State University and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) early in her career. After moving to Crofton, Jean worked as a media specialist in the library of Crofton Woods Elementary School until she retired in 2012. Jean was an active member of the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church in Crofton where she sang in the choir and played handbells. Survivors: husband, Ron; children, Stephanie Graham of Crofton, MD and David Fries of Keene, NY; brother, Bruce Engler; grandchild, Evan Graham, nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the Fall. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Homes, Inc. in Fogelsville, PA. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church, please send to the Funeral Home, PO Box 52, Fogelsville, PA 18051.
