John Wesley "AKA: Poppy" Kuhne

John Wesley Kuhne, 81, of Bethlehem Twp., entered the presence of his Lord and Saviour, on Monday, March 10, 2025, while on a visit to Lancaster. He was the beloved husband of Susan Rose Ann (Cicero) Kuhne with whom he shared 54 years of Marriage. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was a son of the late John E. and Margaret (Gardner) Kuhne. He graduated in 1962 from North Plainfield H.S. and later attended St. Petersburg College in Florida. He also served in the U. S. Air Force during Vietnam. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved going to the beach, which was one of his favorite places and going out to eat. He also enjoyed celebrating family events, especially where he could indulge his sweet tooth. John, was a deeply spiritual man and attended First Baptist Church in Bethlehem.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his daughters, Michele L. Kuhne of Whitehall, Melissa L. Smith (Barry) of Phillipsburg; sister, Barbara Harwell (William) of Leeland NC; grandchildren Abigail, Grace, Emma and Lincoln. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jarett.
Services: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30AM all at First Baptist Church, 3235 Linden Street, Bethlehem. Burial will take place at 1:15 PM at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Ave., Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. Arrangements entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem. www.jamesfuneralhome.org.
