Kassandra Milkewicz

Kassandra Milkewicz, 36, of Lansford, PA, passed away on July 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Danbury, CT, she was the beloved daughter of Eugene Batiste of Granite City, IL, and Lori VanKeuren of Mertztown, PA. Kassandra's passion for helping others shone through in her work as a medical transporter at Greenwood Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Tamaqua, PA. But it was her role as a mother that truly defined her. Kassandra was the epitome of a protective, devoted mom-always putting her children first and fiercely guarding their well-being. To her, family wasn't just a bond, it was everything. She had a gift for cooking, and her chili, mac and cheese, and cheesecake were family favorites that will be remembered with fondness. Kassandra's creative side was another bright spot in her life. An avid crocheter for many years, she also sewed beautiful, intricate Halloween costumes for her daughter, Nicole, without ever needing a pattern. Her love for animals was equally boundless; her fur babies were her world, and she would have adopted dozens more if she could. Kassandra is survived by her parents, her former husband Daniel Milkewicz of Lansford, PA, and her two children, Nicole and Matthew Milkewicz, both at home. She is also survived by her brother, Micheal Batiste of Vallejo, CA, her step-sister, Amanda Mullen of CT, half-brother, Scotty Batiste of GA, and her paternal grandparents, Arthur Batiste of Waterbury, CT, and Catherine Sanford of East Branch, NY, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, located at 16th and Hamilton Streets in Allentown, PA. In honor of Kassandra's loving spirit, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Carbon County Friends of Animals or the GoFundMe fund established in her memory. These contributions will help continue the legacy of compassion she shared with the world.
