Kenneth Johnson Obituary

Kenneth Harding Johnson, 83, of Pottstown, PA passed away Friday, July 11th, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Montgomery County. Kenneth was born in Springfield, OH on July 7, 1942, a son of the late Thelma (Duffey) and Arthur C. Johnson. He was the husband of Janet F. (Schollenberger) Hicks who survives him. In addition to his wife, Janet, Kenneth is also survived by his children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Ken was a member of Kissinger's Lutheran Church in Wyomissing, PA and served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He embodied the spirit of living life to the fullest, never letting setbacks stand in the way of joy. One of his favorite pastimes was attending Jeff Krick concerts-an Elvis impersonator he and Janet especially enjoyed. Together, they found happiness in traveling, exploring Florida, enjoying cruises, and embracing adventures wherever they went. Ken and Janet were also active in a local bowling league. Ken was a kind and loving soul whose stories captivated those around him. His warmth and humor filled rooms with laughter, and he cherished moments spent visiting casinos and sharing breakfast with friends from church at local firehouses and diners. A true patriot, Ken had deep love for his country and those who served it. His family will forever hold dear the joy he brought through his stories, and the way he brightened every space he entered. There will be a small, private honor ceremony held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetary to celebrate's Ken's military service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ken may be made to the American Legion Post #398 of Frackville, PA. Contributions can be made online at https://mylegion.org/PersonifyEbusiness/Donate. Arrangements entrusted to John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. 625 N. 4th Street at Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601, 610-372-4160. Obituary and condolences at www.johnpfeeney.com.
