Lon Wardell Obituary

Lon J. Wardell, 66, of Penn Forrest Twp., passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at his residence. Born in Sacramento, CA, he was the son of the late James Wardell and Joanne (Gearhart) Wardell of Penn Forrest Twp., Jim Thorpe. He was a graduate of Cordova High School. Lon was a manager for Guhring Inc. in California prior to his retirement. He had also developed a United States Patent for an End-Mill Tool "for rough cutting and finishing a workpiece" on Dec. 28, 1999. He was a member of Calvary Chapel of the Poconos in Albrightsville, PA. Lon's hobbies included playing the drums, bicycling, fishing and knife sharpening. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. Surviving along with his mother; is his sister, Colleen Rini of Jim Thorpe, and nephew, Charles Penberthy and his wife Christina of Sicklerville, NJ. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Chapel of the Poconos, 2591 State Route 903, Albrightsville, PA 18210. Funeral Arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill, PA. Online Condolences may be shared at www.parambofh.com. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Calvary Chapel of the Poconos in memory of Lon.
