Nancy J. Helms

Nancy Jane Helms, 93, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 10th while surrounded by loving family. Nancy was born at home on March 21, 1932 in Bloomingdale, NJ to her parents, Thomas and Evelyn Yatman. She attended Butler High School, married her husband of 49 years, Edward Helms, and later moved to "Huckleberry Lodge" in the Poconos, PA. She loved hymns and Christian radio, spending time with her children/grandchildren, bird watching and reading. Nancy loved to watch She was a talented seamstress; creating everything from baby quilts to wedding gowns. Nancy served as a deaconess at Grace Covenant Church but also enjoyed visiting different churches where she met many long-time friends. Nancy volunteered in nursing homes and loved Christmas caroling. Her door was always open! She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed Helms, her parents Tom and Evelyn, her sisters; Judy, Priscilla and "Chip", her son-in-law, Pat Clifford and her life-long friend, Joan Morris of E.Stroudsburg, PA. She is survived by her three children; Nancy Jane McDevitt of Youngstown, OH, Jeff Bud "Tarzan" Helms of E.Stroudsburg PA and Kathy Clifford of Stroudsburg, PA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 18th from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th beginning at 10:00AM at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Stetler officiating. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery. William H.
