Paul Bergey Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Paul L. Bergey, 84, of Bechtelsville, PA, who entered eternal rest on July 27, 2025. Paul was the devoted husband of Carolee (Mininger) Bergey, with whom he shared a life rich in love and partnership for 63 years. Born in Lederach, PA, on May 30, 1941, Paul was the cherished son of the late Tyson and Florence (Hendricks) Bergey. Paul was a longtime, active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sellersville, PA, where he served faithfully and formed lasting friendships. His presence in the church community was marked by devotion, kindness, and a steadfast spirit. A true sports enthusiast, Paul enjoyed all sports but held a special place in his heart for the Eagles and the Phillies. He also delighted in hunting, finding peace and camaraderie outdoors. Above all, he treasured supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events, celebrating each achievement and sharing in their joys. Paul will be remembered by his loved ones as a dedicated, caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather-a man whose love for his family was boundless and unwavering. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him best. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolee; his children, Scott Bergey (Marie) of Bechtelsville, Todd Bergey (Lisa) of Center Valley, Lynn Barth (Brian) of East Greenville, and Sarah (Jeffrey) Bergey of Elverson; grandchildren, Amber, Jarrod, Nathan, Brandon, Austin, Kristina, Sawyer, Mason, and Taylor; twelve great-grandchildren; and his sister, Pearl Smith of Telford. Paul was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Bergey, in 2024, Jeffrey's wife Kimberly, and siblings Doris and Dennis. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 1:30 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church, 754 E. Rockhill Rd, Sellersville, PA 18960. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 pm. Paul was laid to rest in a private ceremony at Old Goshenhoppen Cemetery, Harleysville. In accordance with Paul's wishes, the family kindly requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Upper Bucks Christian School Athletic Department, 754 East Rockhill Rd, Sellersville, PA 18960. Arrangements are by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, PA.

Wendy and I desire to share our deepest sympathy and prayer for Carolee and all the Bergey family. Paul definitely left an impact on my life from the time we came to Pa in 1989 with our young family. I will also be eternally grateful for the sixteen years he desired to be in a men´s ensemble ministry I led at Bethel. When I invited him to join he accepted immediately knowing he could be a part of with his son Todd. He truly modeled what Faith and Family are all about!
