Richard Smith Obituary

Richard A. Smith, Jr., 99, of Macungie, died peacefully May 30, 2025 in Cedarbrook. He was the husband of Margareta L. (Fehn) Smith. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Louise M. (Movack) Smith and Richard A. Smith, Sr. Richard honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII. He worked as insurance adjuster for Maryland American General Insurance Company. Prior to retiring in 1989, he was employed by the PA Unemployment Office. He was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church. He was also of member of the former Alton Park Lions Club. Richard is survived by his wife of 73 years, Margareta; sons, Frank Smith and wife Karen, Glen Smith and wife Janet, and Charles Smith and wife Lori; grandchildren, Adam, Zachary, Kyle, Kevin, Michelle, Megan, Molly, Matthew, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thurs., June 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd., Allentown, PA 18103.
