Robert Lynady Obituary

Robert J. Lynady passed away suddenly on March 30, 2025, at the age of 67. He was the beloved husband of Kerry (née Parkinson) Lynady, devoted father of Colleen Banas (Tyler) and Ryan Lynady (Samantha), and cherished "Baba" to his grandson, Chase-the apple of his eye. Bob was the son of the late Robert T. and Rose Mary Lynady and the loving brother of Roseanne Kraynak (Michael) and Shannon McEvoy (James). He was also a dear brother-in-law to the late Denise Martin and Linda Kester. Bob is survived by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. A retired lieutenant of the Bensalem Police Department, Bob proudly served from 1989 until his retirement in 2014. Before joining Bensalem, he was an officer with the Amtrak Police Department. He was a graduate of King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Bob remained an active member of his Eagle Rock community, serving on the board, and was an avid non-fiction reader who enjoyed staying up to date with sports news. He also loved to travel and explore with his wife, family and friends. He loved engaging in activities with family and friends and was dedicated to maintaining his physical health. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and creating lasting memories with those he loved. One of Bob's favorite pastimes was spending time with friends at the Hazleton Elks. In lieu of flowers, check donations in his memory may be made to the Hazleton Elks, 635 E. Broad Street, Hazleton, PA 18201. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM, followed by a religious service at 1:00 PM at Beck Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7400 New Falls Rd., Levittown, PA 19055. A true friend of the Terrace Street Carbondale neighborhood in the 1960's. We knew him as Robbie; Bob was his father's name. We were an inseparable group then. Robs house was the midway point where we met everyday as children. His parents treated us with kindness and respect even though we were only 10 years old. We knew exactly who we were and where we were going then. It is said that you never have any friends later on in life like the ones you had when you were ten. One day Rob and his family moved away from Terrace Street to Bennet Street. Kingston PA. Although he was always in our thoughts, we never saw him again. Now there are only two of us left from the old Terrace Street gang still in the area. Still, we thought of him again just today. We looked him up on social media and learned the sad facts that he had passed just 2 1/2 months ago. We will never forget you, Rob. We will keep you in our thoughts for the rest of our lives. We were truly blessed to share part of our childhood with you. 'Twas heaven here with you. Please accept our condolences for the loss of your Husband, Father Brother and Baba.

News of Bob´s passing sends ripples of sadness echoing in the charms of our hearts It is hard to imagine an Eagle Rock event without that amusing question of a smirk etched on his face as he wafted through the crowd, a socialite, a stoic, mingling and greeting with that uncanny knack to be exactly where he was needed. His generosity of self and awareness of others was a beacon. He always had a good word of wisdom and was willing to share his time for the benefit of others. You will be missed, Bob, your intricate measure was a bowl-full of happiness seldom seen. It won´t be the same without you, it can´t be because what you added to the mix was unique, but neither will you be forgotten. Our heartfelt condolences to Kerry and fanily. It is the course of life and it is sad sad day of loss.
