Ruth Lesko Obituary

Ruth H (Hersh) Lesko, of Northampton, PA, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family while in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born on April 26, 1939, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Ruth was the daughter of Harold J. and Dorothy (Andreas) Hersh. A graduate of Catasauqua High School, Ruth built a diverse career working most recently at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg, prior to that, she served as assistant registrar at Cedar Crest College, a teller for the Bank of Pennsylvania and Bell Telephone. Ruth was a member of the former St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allentown. Ruth married Jeffrey C. Lesko, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared adventures. They were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this coming November. Ruth and Jeff enjoyed traveling across the country on camping trips, ballroom dancing, and, above all, spending time with their cherished grandchildren and watching them grow into accomplished young adults. Ruth will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, June D. Lesko and brother-in-law, Larry W. Snyder of Catasauqua. She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Jeffrey C. Lesko of Northampton; her son, Jeffrey C. Hoch, and his wife, Angela, of Allentown; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren Hoch of Allentown, Jason Hoch of Catasauqua and his fiancé Amy Beltz; Alexandra Valusek of Allentown, Anthony Costello of Norristown and his wife, Patricia, her sister, Shirley (Hersh) Snyder of Catasauqua, her brother-in-law Craig W. Lesko of Catasauqua and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held Friday June 6, 2025, with a calling hour from 10-11am and a service at 11am at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ruth's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.T2T.org).
