Sandra Horne "Sandy" Gallagher

Sandra "Sandy" Horne Gallagher, 77, of Allentown, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. She and her husband, Jerome ("Jerry") J. Gallagher, would have celebrated 46 years of marriage in September. Born in Gaffney, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Nellie (Henderson) Horne. She was a fiercely proud mother and devoted grandmother ("Grammy Sandy" and/or "Momsie") to eight beloved grandchildren and recently her first great-grandchild, all whom she cherished. Sandy was a devoted Baptist and was a graduate of Bloomsburg University and dedicated her entire career to social work. She was incredibly proud of her contributions as a longstanding Rehabillitation Teacher for the Blind through both Lehigh County and ultimately the State of Pennsylvania until her retirement. She loved sunshine at the pool, sunsets, beach trips, reading and listening to her husband's music as well as exploring many epic concerts together. She was a force of nature and her memory will live on with those whose lives she touched. She will be sorely missed by her family. Survivors: Husband Jerry Gallagher; Children, Rachel Jane Gallagher and her husband, Dominic Catapano, Laura Kate Gallagher and her husband, Evan Barker, Colleen A. Gallagher and John C. Gallagher and his wife, Robyn; eight beloved Grandchildren (John Hooper, Kathleen Hooper, Shay Hooper, Olivia Gallagher, Claire Gallagher, Kylie Gallagher, Brynleigh Barker, and Beckett Barker); and a beloved Great-Grandson (Asher Hooper). Services: Celebration of Life, 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
