Sean O’Neil Obituary

Sean Michael O'Neil, age 41, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. Sean had a passion for food and cooking. He worked for The Mercantile Club in Emmaus, PA as a sous chef and manager. He was well traveled with many of his travels leading him to some of the top restaurants around the country. His favorite place to visit was New Orleans, LA. Sean would study the chefs and their cuisines, making fantastic dining suggestions. He was an avid hiker, visiting trails at many National Parks. He also enjoyed an annual ski trip to VT with the Goodie Stix Crew. Sean was a huge fan of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. He also enjoyed visiting museums and learning about history, specifically World War II. Sean is predeceased by his maternal grandparents David Morehead and Jo Anne Sutton and his paternal grandparents Joseph and Martha O'Neil. Sean is survived by his parents Brian and Terry O'Neil of Fairhope, AL and his brother Patrick O'Neil of Mobile, AL; Aunts Vicki Studstill (Perry) of Fairhope, AL and Susan Reede (Barry) of Camden, AR; Godparents Eric and Brenda Reinert of Breinigsville, PA; Cousins Benjamin Studstill, Tyler Reede, Logan Reede and Kacie Reede, many second and third cousins and numerous friends. Sean was a great conversationalist and storyteller. He was never at a loss for words, and he could spend hours discussing life. He had a kind heart, a carefree spirit and could find humor in most any situation. We feel this scripture fits him perfectly. Matthew 6:34 "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself". A Celebration of Life will be held at Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. 274 North Krocks Road, Allentown, PA on Tuesday, April 22nd. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with a service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will follow at The Mercantile Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hawk Mountain Sanctuary 1700 Hawk Mountain Rd. Kempton, PA 19529.

Sean and I shared many classes together throughout High School together. His nickname was "Shiggity Bones" how he got that nickname I cannot remember, but I remember his amazing basketball ball handling skills. RIP bud

Sean, the first day we met, I felt instantly connected to you. I knew you were special. Some of the best memories I have were because of you. The years we spent together were full of adventure, laughs, tears, amazing food and love. You taught me so much. I never truly got a chance to tell you how much you meant to me and how sorry I am. Anyone who was lucky enough to know you, now is tasked with living in a world without your light, your smile and your beautiful spirit. Never goodbye, only, until I see you again.

"What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

To His Wonderful Parents Brian and Terry
Terry worked at my OB-GYN office for many years and she kept me and staff updated on her two sons. We are members of the Merchantile Club and often Sean would greet us for update on his parents and how happy he was with his life in the Lehigh Valley. We are truly saddened by his passing. You are blessed with your lifetime of wonderful memories of Sean.
