David Turgeon Obituary
David Michael Turgeon passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in his home. He was 33.
Born in New Britain on November 21, 1991, Dave was the beloved son of Judith Turgeon-Provini and his late father, Edward Turgeon. He grew up in Newington alongside his beloved older brother, Steven Turgeon. Despite differences, distance, and mutual challenges, they always loved one another. Dave graduated from Newington High School in 2010, to the immense pride of friends, family, and supporting educators, but to the surprise of nobody who truly knew his intellectually meticulous nature.
Following graduation, Dave worked at Stop & Shop and Price Chopper Supermarkets, Mr. Sparkle Car Wash, and the Plimpton & Hills Corporation, before finding a job that best fit his skills and personality at Superior Products Distributors in Southington in 2021. His position at Superior offered him a supportive work environment where he was part of a valuable team of colleagues and friends, especially his former manager Brendan Kelleher.
A lifelong animal lover, Dave cared for his pets Nunzio, Stinky, JackO, and Mischka. He loved stand-up comedy, laughed and shared inside jokes with Steve, enjoyed movies, video games with friends Jeremy, Mike, Ryan and Rachel, and was supportive of his family and their needs. A gifted cook, he loved time in the kitchen with his Mom and Babci. He was most himself in those moments: close to home, on vacation, or ideally, at the beach on a warm summer day. Dave will always be remembered for his quick wit, keen intellect, and meticulous attention to detail-a trait he inherited from his parents. When difficulties arose, Dave persevered, often trying to spare others his personal struggles.
We endeavor now to remember the better times, and hope he knew that he was never alone and always loved.
David is survived by his mom, Judith Turgeon-Provini, and his stepfather, John Provini, of Berlin; his brother, Steven Turgeon, and sister-in-law, Alexandra, of New Hartford; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Brzezinski of Berlin; as well as step-grandmother Helen Provini of New Hampshire. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Diane Wade and her husband, Douglas, of Berlin; Janet Buden and her husband, Dan, of West Hartford; Ann Oakes and her husband, Bob, of Asheville, NC; Louise Smith of Plainville; Denise Roberge and her husband, Richard, of Berlin; Jill LaVoie of Berlin; Elizabeth Franck and her husband, Matthew, of Berlin; Peter Brzezinski and his wife, Wendy, of Murrells Inlet, SC; and Cheryl Jean and her husband Claude of New Hampshire. He is additionally survived by stepsisters Celine Provini and husband Dan Kline, Alexis Augello and husband Rob, and stepbrother Jason Provini.
He also leaves many loving cousins: Scott, Eric, Daniel, Ian, David, Sean, Richard, Lisa, Courtney, Samantha, Chaela, Jade, Hannah, Marie, Aimee, Emma, Max, Cara and Joshua; as well as other extended family members and dear friends.
David was predeceased by his father, Edward L. Turgeon; his paternal grandfather, Leo Turgeon; his paternal grandmother, Theresa LaRose-Turgeon; and his maternal grandfather, Zygmunt Brzezinski.
