Domenic S. DiBeneditto Sr.
"Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Veteran & Friend"
With profound love and sadness, we announce the passing of Domenic Salvestro DiBeneditto, who left this world peacefully on July 20, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. He was 92 years old.
Born on January 1, 1933, during the Great Depression, Domenic came into the world as the first baby of the year, a fitting beginning for a man whose life would be marked by strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to others. Domenic proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army, where he earned an honorable discharge and was recognized with sharpshooter awards for his exceptional skill and discipline. That same precision and perseverance would define the rest of his life.
A true jack of all trades, Domenic was the family's Mr. Fix-It - known for having the right tool for every job and just the right saved trinket to solve any problem. Whether it was repairing a leaky faucet, tuning up a car, or building something from nothing, Dom approached everything with quiet confidence and craftsmanship. There was never any question about Domenic's love for wine - the wine he crafted and curated by hand in his garage with his best friends. He always kept a bottle at his feet, ready for the right moment, and insisted on being the only one allowed to pour it. It was his quiet ritual, a symbol of hospitality, tradition, and a life well savored.
In his final months, Domenic was cared for with compassion and dignity by AccentCare Hospice, Preferred Care at Home, and the VA, whose benevolence and support meant the world to his family. Their support has been a godsend. Domenic's life was a testament to loyalty, resourcefulness, humility, and love. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his kind heart, and his quiet wisdom. The memories he helped create, the problems he helped solve, and the family he built are the legacy he leaves behind.
He was a loving and loyal husband to Janice DiBeneditto, his partner in life and love for 68 years, married on May 11, 1957. Together they built a family grounded in love, tradition, and enduring values.
Domenic is survived by his wife Janice; his children Domenic DiBeneditto and his wife Ruth Stern, Darlene Lacombe and her Husband Don Luth, and Otto and his wife Mary Ann DiBeneditto; his beloved grandchildren Erica Lacombe and her fiancé Joshua Walls, and James DiBeneditto; his niece Cindy DiBeneditto and her wife Jacquie Harding; and extended family including Domenic & Winnie Buonomo, Sophie Deleon, Connie Taylor, James and Pauline Corbett, and John Buonomo and his partner Kim, and dear friends Lucille Iacoviello and Tom Deleon.
