With family who cherish her by her side, Nancy York (Mitchell) O'Sullivan, 82, slipped into eternal rest on May 20, 2025. She was born in Westfield to the late Anne (Skwarek) and Gurdon Mitchell, she was a 1960 graduate of Westfield High School and Western Mass Hospital Nursing LPN program. She worked for Wesson Women's for over 20 years and then worked for various nursing homes in the area. To honor her memory, she leaves behind so many who love her - Robert, her husband of almost 59 years; her daughter Shelly Hamilton and son-in-law Jeff; her son Robert and daughter-in-law Katie; her sister-in-law Kathy Michael and her husband Dan. She also leaves behind her granddaughters, Maeve and Madden O'Sullivan, who absolutely adore her. She leaves behind a step-granddaughter, Lindsay Eaton, and a step-great-grandson, Wyatt Eaton. She leaves behind her niece Andrea (Bill), her nephew Tim (Silvana) and their children, her great-nieces and great-nephews. She leaves behind her Goddaughter Karen Fanion and many lifelong cousins and friends. She will always be remembered for her big heart and generous spirit. She loved to send greeting cards with heartfelt hand written messages. She loved the beach. She liked to sketch and was a good artist. Throughout her life she remained a devout Catholic and was a member of the Rosary Sodality. She took great pleasure in hosting parties and there was always cake, usually too much of it! She also had a feisty personality and occasionally had to be reminded to engage her filter but she made us laugh. One of her proudest achievements and ours was her almost 45 years of sobriety. Despite the challenge of overcoming addiction, she was the glue that held the family together all these years. She will be deeply missed. We told her we'll take excellent care of Dad. Godspeed to our beautiful Nancy! Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11:30 AM in St. Peter/ St. Casmir Parish, 34 State St., Westfield with burial to follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam. Visiting hours will be held from 9:30 - 11:30 AM in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's name may be directed to
