Serge Leschuk Obituary
Serge "Michael" Leschuk (age 60), Beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Uncle passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2025.
Mike was born on March 15th, 1965, in New Haven, CT to Serge Leschuk and Andrea (Horvath) Leschuk. He married his devoted wife, Toni Ann (Lacerenza) Leschuk, on August 7th, 1993. Shortly after, Mike and Toni purchased their home of 31 years in Meriden, CT. Together they raised one son, Michael Serge Leschuk, who brought immense joy into their lives.
He was a 1983 graduate of East Haven High School and a 1984 graduate of Eli Whitney Regional Vocational – Technical School. He graduated Eli Whitney with a diploma in their Precision Machining Program. He worked at various machine shops until he secured a 27-year position at Riff Company in Cheshire, CT as a lead CNC Machinist / Toolmaker until March of 2014. He was incredibly proud of his career and took pride in every job he was given.
Mike enjoyed watching NHRA Drag Racing (drivers John and Brittany Force), the History Channel, Yellowstone, and Fox News. He was a big fan of classic rock with some of his favorites being Led Zeppelin and Van Halen. His passion was spending time in Maine where he enjoyed the simple beauty of nature. Mike cherished every fishing opportunity. He loved trolling for trout and landlocked salmon for hours, and spending time with his wife and son on the water as well as campfires with his family.
Mike could fix anything and was always ready to lend a hand to friends and family with repairs and chores. He approached every task with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to doing things right. He was a man of few words and a man of honest actions. He built a life with his hands as a blue-collar worker. Mike worked closely with his son from a young age, passing on his knowledge of nearly 50 years of working with his hands. As his son grew, they became a great team, and with their combined knowledge there wasn't much they couldn't handle working together.
In his spare time, he liked to cook and take spur of the moment rides in his 2010 Mustang that was recently passed down to his son. He would always ask his son if he wanted to "go for a burn" and of course Michael quickly accepted. Michael quickly adopted his father's way of driving a manual transmission which was quite unique – double clutching and at times Mike's ultimate move of shifting with no clutch.
He was devoted to his wife and was incredibly proud of his son. He loved the family dog, Mazze, who always brought a smile to his face.
Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication will live on through the countless lives he touched.
