Stephen "Steve" Mastriano

Stephen "Steve" James Mastriano, 64, of Meriden, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 17, 1961, Steve was a lifelong resident of Meriden. As the third-generation owner of Mastriano Insurance, Steve continued a nearly 100-year family legacy of personal service started by his grandfather in 1926. His customers were never just customers; they were friends and neighbors, often becoming like family. Steve was known for his sense of humor, enthusiasm, generosity, and unwavering patriotism. With his wife of 40 wonderful years, Marianne (Nardi) Mastriano, he built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. Steve had a deep love for music, especially playing the drums. His enthusiasm for music inspired his oldest son to take up the drums and his youngest son to learn the saxophone, another of his musical interests. The drumming legacy is carried on today by his grandsons. Sports were another source of happiness. Steve enjoyed playing golf, baseball, basketball, and bowling. He found great joy in coaching his sons' youth teams and inspiring young athletes with his passion and knowledge. As a diehard Yankees fan, nothing made him happier than a win over the Red Sox! Above all, Steve cherished his family, and his love for them was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, and proud "Poppy" to his grandsons, who brought him immeasurable pride and happiness. In addition to his loving wife, Marianne, he is survived by his sons, Stephen Mastriano and his wife, Kristin, and Alexander Mastriano, all of Meriden; and his cherished grandsons, Stephen and Jason. Steve's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4 PM until 6:30 PM. His funeral service will follow at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
