Brian Laycock Obituary

Brian Edward Laycock, 50, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 1:12 PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at his home in Hannibal, MO. There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Brian was born July 15, 1974, in Grayslake, IL to Larry Laycock Sr. and Barbara Heigel Laycock. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Laycock of Mesa, AZ; one son, Steven A. Mitchell of Hannibal, MO; one sister, Laura Woodridge (Kevin) of Ingleside, IL; sister-in-law, Kimmy Laycock of Roundlake, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Larry Laycock Sr.; brother, Larry Laycock Jr.; and fiancé, Jasmine Brooks. Brian was the part-owner and operator of All Green, a concrete protectant company. He also worked in the warehouse at Hannibal Fireworks Superstore. Brian loved to tinker on old cars. He especially was drawn to the Datsun Z series cars and he liked to attend Z Fest each year in Branson, MO. Playing old computer games and the music of Pantera were a few of Brian's favorites. A former Boy Scout, Brian, took pleasure in scouting and camping and simply being outdoors. An excellent cook, Brian made the most amazing biscuits and gravy and the best Italian beef. Watching historical war documentaries, listening to Reddit sci-fi stories and taking care of his chickens were other activities that Brian appreciated. With a heart of gold, Brian is remembered for his "gift of gab", never knowing a stranger. Brian will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Brian was Episcopalian by faith.
