Edward P. "Eddie" Chernesky

Edward P. "Eddie" Chenesky, 84, of Haverhill, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Mass General Hospital, Boston surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
He was born in Haverhill on May 2, 1941, son of the Late Joseph and Rose (Kiarsis) Chernesky.
Edward was educated in the Haverhill School System and graduated from Haverhill Trade School with the Class of 1959. He served in the United States Army Reserves for nine years. He was the proud Owner and Operator of Shoe City Hardware in Haverhill for over 52 years.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, fishing, softball, going to the beach, Loon mountain vacations and taking rides in his corvette. If you were ever looking for him you could always find him at Market Basket.
He was also a major sponsor of the Shoe City Hardware multiple mens softball championships teams.
He is currently the vice president of the Gedymino Lithuanian Club, the President of Standard Hardware Associates, Haverhill Recreation Commission, Haverhill Conservation Committee and Haverhill Boys and Girls Club.
Edward is predeceased by his siblings Edmund Chernesky and Daniel Chernesky.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen A. (Chase) Chernesky, his two daughters Kerri I. Maclean and her husband Timothy of Haverhill and Lynn R. Lareau and her husband Donald of Haverhill, his sister Elinor Chernesky of Haverhill, his three grandchildren Cayla Dubina and her husband Garrett, Zachary Lareau and Camden Lareau, his great grandson Carter Dubina, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was fortunate to leave behind a large community of friends in both fishing and softball communities.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, December 29, from 4-7 PM in the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 30 at 11 AM in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St., Bradford. Interment will follow in the Lithuanian Cemetery, Bradford.
