Esther Hoffman Obituary

Esther L. "Tootie" Hoffman, 82, of Quincy, died on Sunday (Feb. 5, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.

She was born on June 12, 1929, in Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Herman and Mary Meierotto Brockman. She married John H. Hoffman on June 24, 1950, in St. John Catholic Church. He died Jan. 22, 2000.

Mrs. Hoffman worked as a food demonstrator for County Market for many years. Previous to this, she had worked for Brower Manufacturing.

Mrs. Hoffman was a member of the Church of St. Peter and a former long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a member of the Elks Auxiliary.

Tootie loved the time she spent with her family and greatly adored her dog, Max.

She is survived by six children, Tom Hoffman and his fiancé, Sherry Thompson, of Peoria, Kathy Zimmerman and her husband, Bron, of Quincy, Steve Hoffman and his wife, Carol, of Quincy, Don Hoffman and his wife, Mollie, of Quincy, Debbie Kruthoff and her companion, Jim Codd, and Mike Hoffman and his wife, Patty, of Taylor, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, Lindsay Hoffman, Ryan Hoffman, Kelle Schlueter and her husband, Trent, Brandon Zimmerman and his wife, Lisa, Brent Zimmerman, Drew Hoffman and his fiancé, Sarah Lansing, Alex Hoffman, Alison Hoffman, Hilary Hoffman, Joshua Hoffman, Carl Kruthoff and his fiancé, Courtney Grist, Kayla Kruthoff and her fiancé, Dan Richardson, Chad Kruthoff and Christina Dunford; and six great-grandchildren, Logan Schlueter, Colin Schlueter, Nathan Zimmerman, Claire Zimmerman, Trinity Dunford and Kirsten Dunford. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Tootie was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

SERVICES: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS: Blessing Hospital Foundation for the benefit of Cancer Center or for the benefit of the Intensive Care Unit.

ARRANGEMENTS: Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

Tootie is, and always will be a wonderful lady. I wish the girl's could have got to know her better but Trinity look's at her picture and smile's "That's Grandma" Even a 2yr old can tell she was a Lady that can make you Smile :) I know you are in a better place but you will be sorely missed by many...
