Jason Robert Pierson, age 39, of Smyrna, Tennessee, died Friday, July 30, 2021, in Quincy.
Jason was born December 26, 1981 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Robert Lory and Julia Montgomery. He married Kevin Cohenour on June 2, 2020 in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Jason was an amazing chef, a culinary genius. There wasn't anything he couldn't prepare, from something as simple as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, to the best Shrimp and Grits, or homemade ravioli you've ever eaten.
He had a love of sheep and vegetable farming; I've never known anyone to talk about a subject as much as he did about sheep. He was constantly talking about sheep, reading about them, watching T.V. shows about them, and listening to pod casts on the topics of sheep and vegetable farming. He could talk your ears off about his favorite topics. Don't even get me started on how he felt about Taylor Swift. He could also be very quiet and reserved though. At the same time, he had the most infectious laugh you'd ever hear, it was unforgettable and would fill a room. His smile, that smile was never ending and unforgettable.
Jason loved his family, fiercely, especially his mother. His friends were either cherished memories or longtime companions, with many stories to tell. Jason has left many friends from all over the country, with hearts happier from knowing him, with minds clearer from lessons he taught them. He has left behind family that will forever miss the light he brought into their darkest times.
In addition to his husband, Kevin, Jason is survived his parents Kent and Julia Montgomery of Quincy, Illinois; his brother Aaron (Cassandra) Faulkner, and many other family and friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul and Sharon Whiting; and his father Robert Lorey.
Celebration of life to be announced by the family at a later time.
