Alice Henderson Obituary
Alice Ann Jollo Henderson, 71, died peacefully at her long time home in the foothills of Naneum Canyon on May 15, 2009. She struggled with heart problems and rheumatoid arthritis resulting from a 44-year battle with diabetes.
She was born March 2, 1938 in Ellensburg, Wa., the daughter of James Vincent Jollo and Mary Catherine Hadaller.
She married LeMoyne (Lee) Clifton Henderson shortly after graduating from EHS on September 22, 1956.
Her first and most important job was raising and caring for her five children. When the children were old enough she went to work as a meat wrapper at a small custom shop. She retired from Albertson's to join her husband at their long time home at the mouth of Naneum Canyon and go on warm vacations in Hawaii, fishing, camping and watching her grandchildren swim & grow.
What was most important to Alice was family; she provided support and inspiration no matter what. Following in her mother's footsteps, Alice fully supported and enjoyed the Hadaller family reunion that takes place very five years at the original homestead with well over 500 family members.
Although Alice requested a short obituary she also stated, "don't toot my horn". We, her children believe that Alice's strong Catholic upbringing and her devotion to family and friends made her a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Vincent and Dan. She is survived by brothers Don, Jim, Ralph, and Jerry; sisters Mary Esther and Rita; children; James/Jim C. Henderson of Ellensburg, Tom L. (Tracy) Henderson of Ellensburg, Ramona R (Richard) Cowman of Mt. Home, ID.; Beth A. (Randy) Brunson of Ellensburg, and Darcy M (Ron) Poulsen of Ellensburg; grandchildren; Megan, Tucker and Nicholas Henderson (Jim and Karen), Justin and Brooke Henderson (Tom and Tracy), Jayme Cowman, Tiffany and Colton Brunson, Kristen and Nathan Poulsen.
