Mitchell Warrick Obituary
Mitchell Warrick of Revere, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 13th, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 91 years old. Born in Portugal Cove, St. Johns West, Newfoundland, Canada on August 19, 1923 to parents, Archibald and Violet (Cook) Mitchell. He attended public schools in Newfoundland and emigrated to the United States at the age of 22. He worked in the U.S. for 4 years and he entered the United States Army in 1945. He was stationed with the 39th Infantry Regiment and the 7th Infantry Regiment in the area of Bavaria, Germany. He was honorably discharged in February 1947 at the rank of PFC. After his discharge from the Army, Warrick worked as a commercial fisherman for 2 weeks at a time in the New England fishing waters. He fished out of the Ports of East Boston and the Seaport Area. In the late 40s, Warrick met his lovely Joyce and they were married in 1948. After 5 years in the fishing industry, Warrick became interested in construction and for the next 26 years he worked as a Pile Driver, retiring in 1979 because of his health. After recovering from a heart attack and a subsequent surgery, Warrick worked part time for Bayside Engineering in Somerville. After several years, Warrick finally retired to enjoy his family and especially his grandchildren. He is the beloved husband of Joyce C. (Cluett) with whom he shared 6 years of marriage. Devoted father of Warrick F. Mitchell and his wife Adele M. of Wickford, RI, and Catherine C. Mitchell and her husband Bryan A. Townsend of Ipswich. Dear brother of Pauline Hammond of London, Ontario and the late Frederick Mitchell, Armorel Hussey, Donald Mitchell, Freeman Mitchell, Irene Hibbs, Malcolm Mitchell and Harry Mitchell. Also lovingly survived by 4 grandchildren; Warrick W. Mitchell and his wife Barbara of CA, Wynn W. Mitchell of Boston, Lili Bao Lan Mitchell, Lenzie Xian Rong Mitchell, his dear neighbor and best friend Arthur Minichello of Revere and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service and Celebration of his Life will be celebrated on Friday, June 19th in the Ascension Memorial Episcopal Church, 31 County Rd., Ipswich at 12:00 Noon.
