Tassa Wilson Obituary

Tassa Rose Wilson passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2013 at the age of 51. A recent resident of Salem, she was the beloved mother of Ian Zachary Wilson of Hamilton and the loving daughter of Dr. Marv and Polly Wilson of Hamilton. Tassa was born in Boston and lived on the North Shore most of her life. She graduated from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School and from Gordon College with honors. At Gordon, she performed with the Gordon Players and the Princemere Readers. Tassa graduated from the New England School of Broadcasting. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Yates Summer School in Ireland and graduated from the London School of Make-Up (Complexions International). She worked as a beauty consultant for Christian Dior. She also worked as a free-lance artist. Health issues, including serious brain surgery, made it difficult to continue in this field she loved so much. She enjoyed travel in the British Isles, Egypt, Greece and Israel. In addition to her son and parents, she is survived by her Aunt Phyllis MacVittie Waldie, cousins Bryan and David MacVittie, Uncle and Aunt Malcolm and Nell Wilson, cousins Jane Wilson Chieko, Curt Wilson and Rhoda Wilson Segerstrom. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 11:00 am, at the Church of the Nazarene, 556 Cabot Street, No. Beverly, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Gordon College, 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham, MA 01984, Attn: "Tassa Rose Wilson Student Fund."
