Louis Vigliotti Obituary

Louis (Louie) H. Vigliotti Jr. of Stow died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 unexpectedly in his home at the age of 63. Louie was born on July 16, 1950 in Concord, to the late Louis (Sr.) and Edithe (Hughes) Vigliotti. He grew up in Acton and graduated from Acton-Boxborough High School in 1968. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for four years during the Vietnam War. Louie met and married his former wife, Grace, during his service in the Air Force. Soon thereafter, Louie left the military to raise a family and take over the family business, Middlesex Water Service in Acton. Louie and Grace raised five children in Shirley, where Louie was active in his community. Louie loved his children very much and enjoyed coaching his childrens sports teams. He also donated his time to help maintain Shirleys public swimming pool and other town recreational facilities. Up until the day of his passing, Louie continued to run the family business, recently with the help of his son, Russell, who plans to continue the business. Louie enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, biking and kayaking. He is survived by his loving partner, Teri Quirk, with whom he spent the last several years, as well as his five children, Valerie, Jeffrey, Russell, Richard and Vanessa, his siblings, Edward and Barbara, and two grandchildren. In accordance with Louies wishes, no formal service is being held. An informal gathering in celebration of Louie s life will be held at Tailgaters Grill in Acton, on November 11, 2013 from noon to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in memory of Louie Vigliotti to The Sunshine Kids Foundation, 2814 Virginia St., Houston, TX 77098. Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 2005, Acton, MA 01720.

I'm so sorry to hear about Lou. He was such a nice man and always very responsive when we had a water problem. I will miss those pleasant conversations we had whenever my well pump was misbehaving. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so sad to hear that Lou has passed away...Last evening I was told at a Class Reunion Meeting in Boxborough. Not only do I remember Lou coming to my house in Boxborough over the years for water service...He was a friend to me in our growing up years...He was such a warm kind person...With a winning smile...I just recently saw him on Nason Street in Maynard...Yet, too young...Rest in Peace Lou...I am sure you will be terribly missed...Rest...

We are just heartbroken to hear of Louie leaving us so suddenly. He was such a sweet, sweet, man, there just wasn't anyone like him in our family. I have such fond memories of family get togethers on Great Road, running around, playing kick ball, baseball, having Mr. Christian chasing us around. He will always be "Littleman" to me forever. I am going to miss him more than anyone will ever know. I am just so sad for all of you and for myself with the thoughts of not having him here. I am so comforted that for the last few years of his life he found happiness with you Terry, such a gift to him. My love and thoughts are with you and with all of Louis's children. Will keep you all in my prayers. Joanne and Tom
