I first met John in 2007, when he came to the nursing facility I worked at for short term rehab. He quickly became my all-time favorite "resident". John was sweet, smart, and had an great sense of humor. He had very strong faith, and I'm still touched by the love and devotion to his lovely wife, Anne. I got to know both of them quite well over the years, as they both came in for rehab a few times.
John always remembered me because when I was activity director, I bought him a CD of harp music. Whenever he showed up for rehab, I'd be so excited to see him, and he's tell me he was still enjoying the harp music. Now he'll have plenty of harp music without the CD!
I'll never forget Mr. Rockett, as I called him. The last time he stayed with us, he invited me to come to his house for dinner with Anne. Unfortunately, it never came to pass, and I regret it.
I'm happy John is in Heaven with the love of his life. I hope I meet him again someday. I didn't learn of his passing until a couple of weeks ago, when I saw the obit in the Needham Tab. He will be missed. God bless his children, he was so proud of them all. I never met the whole family, but I know how much he loved you!
Sincerely,

I met John when he was known as the Miracle of Upland Road, having just returned from a long hospitalization and feeling like he had a new start. It was easy to see he was a very special man, and since that day, i was privileged to call him my friend. The earth won't be the same without him here but heaven is sure lucky to get him. Thank you for everything John!

John was the kind of guy that no matter how much he was hurting, he always had something to give. I felt like a better person having known him. My condolences to the kids.
