Robert Davis Obituary

Robert L. Davis, 92, of Plymouth, formerly of Norwood, passed away at Life Care Center of Plymouth, September 21. Devoted husband of the late Marie (Barker) Davis, he was the father of Jeanne Davis, and son-in-law, Bruce Wheat of Pownal, Vt., Wendy Cushing, and son-in-law, Mark Cushing of Sagamore Beach, Gary Davis of Concord, N.H., and Mark Davis of Athol. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren. Robert was born in Brownsville, Texas, the son of George A. and Olive G. (Elston) Davis. He graduated from Jamaica Plain High School, Class of 1939, and attended Boston University and Northeastern University. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Robert was an office manager for Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Co. in Boston. He enjoyed music, he played the drums, saxophone, and the keyboard. He loved to dance with his wife Marie and was a devoted family man. Robert was also a handyman and built his own home. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, September 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road (Rte. 3A), Plymouth (Manomet), followed by a funeral service at 11. Burial will be at the Manomet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roberts memory may be made to Hope Hospice, 275 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
