I found out five minutes ago of Phil's passing. Camp Alton is where we met. He was an inspiration to everyone. He was truly loved by one and all. When we spoke he was totally focused on me. I never, ever heard him brag about himself. He was rooted. He was such a wonderful person. My deepest sympathy to you, Sandy and your wonderful family. I miss you, Nyms.

Sandy just saw the listing of Phil's passing in the ACBL Bridge Bulletin. Please accept my sincere condolences. It was a pleasure to be in Phil's company. He always had a humorous comment or wise crack. Such a cheery soul. Phil will be missed.

Dear Sandy,
I was so saddened to learn of Phil's death. Nancy told me about his illness and his death. I attended the funeral and was so impressed by your lovely family -- many of whom shared their happy memories of Phil and their family life. You, although grieving, are blessed to have such a close-knit family and such wonderful memories. I hope we will see you at our next high school gathering. Love, Alberta

He and I go way back to college at UMass when we were both freshman and staying in Thatcher Dorm in rooms next yo each other. He was a super friendly guy with a smile on his face all the time. We are so sad today to find out of our dear friend Phils death. Phil always. .. with a smile..a laugh ....proud stories of his grandchildren .. and a funny remark about Sandy We share fond memories of Phil from U Mass to Weston to now.. note: he would never eat Hershey bars with nuts cause the nuts took up too much space!! To Phil we laugh and cry at the same time Sandy our hearts And love are with you ... Phil a wonderful man!!!

In the years we spent as roommates at TEP AND IN BROOKLINE, the laughs and planning for our future was a fantastic time. Fortunately Sandy stole him away, and the rest is history.
His Smile and humor ,and goodness went with him through life.
May each child learn from his example and follow his footsteps in how to treat others .
