John Metz Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John S. Metz at the age of 71 on Thursday, March 13. His passing was quiet, just like how John lived his life.
He was loved by his wife, Mary, for one month shy of 41 years. He was a beloved father, father-in-law, and grandfather. His passing leaves behind his devastated sons Michael (Caitlin) and Steven (Melissa) as well as his grandsons John, Logan, Bryson, and Jack. He is also survived by his brother Don (Jackie) Metz, sisters Rosanne (Ken) Ferguson and Joyce (Scott) Miser, his sisters-in-law Carole Steigenga, Nancy (Gary) Shuert, and Pat Rhodes, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Originally from Fennville, MI, John lived most of his adult life in Phoenix, AZ. John was the proud owner of Metz & Associates for 18 years and loved his life both before and after retirement. He enjoyed reading and taking cruises with his wife. He also adored the outdoors, golfing for many years with friends and hiking both local mountains and the Grand Canyon. He recently began fishing again, though he was convinced that Arizona had no fish to be caught. He loved trips up north, both with his wife and when the family could all come together. The thing that brought John the most joy was spending time with his family.
A private celebration of John's life will be held as per his wishes.
