William Zastrow

William Zastrow, age 91, of Farwell, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on April 13, 2025 and has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A veteran of the Air Force, Bill honorably served his country as a radar and air traffic controller from 1953 to 1973. Following his military retirement, he relocated to Southern California and managed a hotel near Disneyland. He then married Joyce, his beloved wife of 50 years, and lovingly raised her three daughters as his own. Known for his quiet demeanor and sharp wit, Bill enjoyed trains, war movies, western novels, and puzzles. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce; his daughters, Marcia Schmitt, Dee Dee Hill (Ted), and Denise Adams; as well as his five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson Wyman Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22nd, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, April 23rd, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow immediately after the Wednesday morning visitation with Pastor Jeremiah Dewey officiating. Burial will take place in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare with Military Honors being presented. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Salvation Army or to the Gideon Bible Society.
