Donald Gurkin Obituary

Donald Harden Gurkin, Sr.
JAMESVILLE - Donald H. Gurkin, Sr., 78, of Jamesville, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family.
Donald was born in Washington County on November 24, 1945, to the late Charles Thomas and Marie Harden Gurkin.
Donald proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a Vietnam war veteran. He later worked as an electrician for Weyerhaeuser/Domtar, until retirement. He enjoyed gardening. Donald's family was the most important thing to him. He built a strong and happy family which was always his first priority. The example he provided solidified bonds that will never be broken.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date, per his request.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Sandra Modlin Gurkin, two sons, Donald Gurkin, Jr., and wife Denice of Greenville, and Eric Gurkin and wife Lisa of Jamesville; grandchildren: Elliott Gurkin, Bryan Gurkin (Griffin), Connor Gurkin, and Erica Gurkin; great-grandchildren: Hank, Julia, and Virginia; his brother, Charles Gurkin and wife Katie of Winston-Salem; and many loving nieces and nephews.
