Mr. Alex D. McCullough, 17, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's World Outreach Center. Russell Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Alex i just cant believe your gone i remember us sitting in class at Philo and Parkland together and me and you always joking together and you always had that beautiful smile on your face ! The day of your funeral it didnt even seem real i just cried and cried i think reality really hit me at that point that you were gone ! I still get teary eyed to this day thinking about you and what a beautiful life that you could of lived but, Alex I know your in the heavens above watching down on us and having that gorgeous smile on your face ! Your in a better place, and me and everyone else will see you at the gates one day so....just keep them open ! RIP I LOVE YOU LEX

Hey Lex...
Sorry it took me so long to write. I guess I was really just at a loss for words. I still don't believe that you are really gone. I keep expecting to see you sittin on the couch at your dad's house watching tv. I think about you ALL the time. Like I mean ALL the time. Everytime I hear a song with drums, I think "Alex coulda played this song!" You were always beatin' on something! Your family misses you so much. They hurt so much inside and there is nothing anybody can say that will help. I know you're with them but they want to be with you so bad...Remember how we always fought over who got to sit in the front of Kevin's car? lol I got many a bruise from those battles! I wore those flip flops you always stole from me yesterday...you're right, they are quite comfy! I don't know what all God allows you to do from heaven but I wanted to ask a favor...If there is anyway that you can reach down and ease the pain that your mom, dad, and Kev feel...I love you Alex and I miss you!

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I was Alex's history teacher last year and cannot get his sweet face out of my mind. He was soft-spoken in the classroom, entertaining on the field and a friend to many.
I'll never forget the time I caught him passing notes under the door of an adjoining classroom. He knew he'd been caught and was worried he'd be in trouble. He was so sweet; I couldn't be angry. Relish in your happy memories and know that he is with God.

I first meet Alex at Winston Lake Family YMCA, playing with the Boss Drummers. Everytime I saw Alex he had this wonderful smile on his face that would light up the room. He never had a mean bone in his body and would always make me smile, just because he was smiling. I will always remember that smile and remember Alex. Death. It is an appointment that cannot be postponed, rescheduled, or canceled. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe this is PHS's wake up call or sign. Man we need to get right. And this should definitely bring us closer together. But, "all things worketh together for good, to them who love him, according to his purpose and will." There's a tym to live, and a tym to die. You have lost your son and I have lost one of my children. Alex knew me as Momma. I drive the band bus for Parkland and he will always be one of my kids. He always had a smile on his face and loved to play with those sticks. I will miss him and please know that my prayers are with your family and the extended family of Alex at Parkland High School. Everyone that played with him and knew him liked him. He was a well mannered young man with such promise. I will miss him. Trust in God and each other to help get you through this time of unbearable sorrows. Hang in there Drum Line and friends alike. Tears do not show weakness, they show love and compassion and sorrow. I remeber Alex when I went to Easton Philo as well Parkland. But before I get started Alex was on of my Best friends along with Charmers and Jacqua It took me a while to figure out that he is really gone. Because Alex was a good friend , he never said anything mean or out the way to anyone. But one thing I do remeber is when Alex love to play them drums he always had sticks in his hands, I use to say dang Alex dont you ever get tired playing drums her use to just smile. But what I'm saying Alex would be remeber long after Parland High School Seniors are gone , long after Parkland High School Teachers are gone as well Parkland High School Principal. I have two gilrs at Parkland and I have crossed paths with Alex several times. He was a beautiful young man, always smiling and he seemed so full of life. I saw him just two weeks ago and I was picking with him as usual and he just sat there and smiled like he always did. I can't begin to imagine what you must be going through and I am so very sorry for your loss. Your family has been in my prayers since my daughters told me about Alex and you will continue to be in my prayers.

Mr. and Mrs. McCullough: My prayers and condolences go out to you in this time of grief. God knows just how much we can bear. God has 1 more special angel added to his kingdom. I wont begin to say that I know how you feel because everyone has a different feeling of loss. Alex has been to my house with my son Lil'Chris many times. We have crossed each others path, sometimes daily, over the past 4 years with the Marching Band. I pray for your family in these coming days. Needless to say, your lives will never be the same. But, I have never seen a sad look on Alex's face. The only image I have of him is smiling. With that said, to the family, to the friends, to all the young people that even so much as said hello to Alex, keep smiling.Remember him for all the good times you had with him. Learn that we never know when we may leave this earth, and cherish every minute you have with your friends and family.
