Ben Joseph Hemrick

1945 - 2025

Ben Joseph Hemrick passed into the more immediate presence of God on December 25, 2025. He was born in Forsyth County April 13, 1945 to Louis "Curtis" Hemrick and Etta Johnson Hemrick, and was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Jack and Harry, and his sister, Janet Dopson.

Ben was first and foremost a man of faith, and a longtime member at Canaan United Methodist Church. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He began working at age 18 and worked until age 75 at several companies, including The American Red Cross and High Point University. Ben was generous to a fault, and always wanted to give you something, whether you wanted it or not.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Judy McGrady Hemrick; his two sons, B.J. Hemrick and Curt Hemrick; and his four grandchildren, Dylan Hemrick, Hannah Schoenberger (husband Caleb), Hunter Hemrick, and Haley Hemrick. Ben is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a multitude of friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30th, at Canaan UMC. The family will greet friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.
