Charlie White Obituary
GERMANTON - Mr. Charlie Ray White, 90, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Stokes Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury. Born Feb. 17, 1913, to Thomas Luther and Carrie Lee Boles White, he was married in 1950 to Novella Mae Lawson. He was a member of the Corinth Church of Christ. He was retired from highway maintenance with the N.C. Dept. of Transportation and was a retired tobacco farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 1994. He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Brim (Danny) of Madison, Betty Southern (Don) of Germanton and Nina Bates (Bobby) of Yadkinville; a son, Ray Lee White (Layne) of Shoals; a sister, Josephine Speas of Winston-Salem; a brother, T.L. White (Sophia Mae) of Rural Hall; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, July 20, at Burroughs Funeral Home, with visitation following. The committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 21, at Corinth Church of Christ. The family requests memorials be considered to the Corinth Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, c/o Mr. Leo Smith, 3351 South Friendship Road, Germanton, NC 27019.
