Harris, Harry B.

September 2, 1976 - January 23, 2022

Mr. Harry B Harris was born September 2, 1976, in Winston-Salem, NC to Harry Harris Sr and Lindy Harris Ellis. Harry was a man of strong faith and deeply rooted in his community. Mr. Harris was a graduate of Mount Tabor High School class of 1995 and Fayetteville State University class of 2000. Harry loved football, was a great running back at FSU. Harry peacefully departed this young life on earth Sunday morning January 23, 2022.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother Lindy Harris-Ellis and father Harry Harris Sr., his wife Tasha Harris, three sons: Isaiah, Zion and Elijah, two brothers Lamont Harris and El-Hajj Harris, a great aunt Mary Shuler, two aunts Brenda Hairston and Valerie Wilson and a host of family and friends.

He held positions that included Federal Probation Case Manager, SIMS Administrator, Vice Principal and 4th grade teacher at East Winston Charter School, and Founder/CEO of The Elite 8. He was instrumental in bringing the community together through charities such as The Elite 8 basketball tournament, Turkey Bowl and the Bryan Summer Golf Camp at Winston Lake. He was known as "Harry Harris - Mr. Polo Rd #33 together."

Who was Harry B. Harris? He had a contagious smile that was like a magnet for drawing people to him. He was an entrepreneur, a role model, an achiever, and so much more. I remember the day my daughter, Tasha, brought Harry to our home and i met him for the first time. He smiled and said, how you doing sir? He was smart, talkative and looked directly into my eyes. He told me right then and there, i will take good care of your daughter, and he did. I couldn't have asked for a better husband for my daughter or, a better father for my grandsons. And for that, i am forever grateful, Harry. Rest in peace my son-in-law. My condolences to the family.

Harry was a man of many talents. He had a smile that was contagious. Harry was my tutor in college when I studied statistics. He was able to break down any problem so that I could get the understanding needed. Harry was like a brother to me. I know now he is at peace in heaven. He will be missed.
