Lorene Pearl Driver Murphy, 91, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2021 at her home.

Lorene was born on March 20, 1929 in Wilkes County, NC; daughter of the late; Lonnie Franklin Driver and Lessie Elizabeth Combs Driver. Other then her parents, her husband, Thomas Thad Murphy, a daughter, Donna Jean Rose, three brother and a sister-in-law; Henry, Junior Driver and Albert and Peggy Driver, and two sisters; Dorothy Weldy and Katie Hollyfield. Survivors include her loving daughter; Ann (Jerry) Hutchens, four grandchildren; Kendal Hutchens (Tabitha), Angela Hutchens, Thomas Rose and Lorie Rose, six great grandchildren; Alex Hutchens, Savanna Hutchens, Ava Cousart, Kellen Hutchens, Ryan Gordon and Carter Rose, Kali, two sisters; Inez Tilley (Ted) and Vickie Taylor (David), sister-in-law; Margaret Driver and a brother; C. W. Driver (Gloria). She was a long-time member of Beck's Baptist Church, where she loved keeping the nursery and caring for all the babies for over 61 years. Lorene will be missed by all, she was loving, Humble and caring person. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Gentry Funeral Chapel in East Bend with Rev. Mitchell See officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. Mrs. Murphy can be viewed on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Well Care and Home Care of Mocksville, NC. The family would like to thank Well Care Hospice for all their care for Mrs. Murphy. I met Lorene Murphy several years ago at Hilda's Magic Shears Beauty Shop where we went every Friday to get "Beautiful". She always had that sweet smile on her face.
