I have known Mabel since I was 18 and worked at my first job at Ligeon Electric with her. We worked together and she was a great person. We have stayed in touch and I called her this year on her birthday. She would call me some up until last year. She said she had a stroke. I called her once after her birthday and she had a hard time knowing who I was. I went to visit my Mom in Winston today and tried to call Mabel and her phone was disconnected. I called Creekside and Heritage Woods and they told she went to Silas Creek Manor. I went there but they did not know her. I fear that she was gone so I came home and did a google search for her and found her obituary today January 12, 2007. I started my search for her when my Christmas card I sent her this year came back this week. I think it was God's way of letting me know I had lost Mabel. She was a good person and I will miss her greatly.
