Peggy Johnston Obituary

JOHNSTON WINSTON-SALEM Peggy Jean Brown Johnston Dec. 14, 1937 - Dec. 31, 2012 Mrs. Peggy Jean Brown Johnston, 75, passed away peacefully Monday, December 31, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Johnston was born December 14, 1937 in Forsyth County to the late Charlie and Nannie Brown. She worked at Hanes Hosiery before coming a homemaker and raising her family. The last years of her life, she dedicated to her grandchildren. She was a member of Brookhaven Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Surviving are her devoted husband of 59 years, Bobby Johnston; two children: Randall Johnston (Hope) and Sandra Willard (Tim); two grandchildren: Katie and Allie Johnston; sister, Freada Crews; a very special sister-in-law, Gaynell Poindexter; and also, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Mitchell See and the Rev. Michael Gates officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Susan G. Komen Foundation, 1106 Burke Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. My thoughts and prayers are with the Johnston family members! I am so sad to hear Peggy passed away! But happy for her also because she is in no pain now and has went home. She was the nicest person whom I loved very much and thought very highly of! She always treated me like family and I will always love her! She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend! Rest in peace Peggy until we see each other again!

Uncle Bobby, Randall & Sandra.... I sent some flowers to your home and will arrive Thursday 1/3/2013. You are in my thoughts and prayers this day as you attend the memorial services for Aunt Peggy!
